Plan[edit | edit source]

  • Jan 03 2021 - Inoculated...

Shitty Myc Petri -> Tiny Shoebox[edit | edit source]

  • cut off some coir, size of coir roughly doubles
  • Weigh, add water ratio of 200g coir to 920ml water
  • Put in glass tub
  • Microwave 10min? Apparently Will reduce water too much? Could just add more boiling water later...)
  • Maybe fridge/freeze it...
  • Take out about half for a casing layer... Check it's not to wet. you want is to be able to squeeze the fuck out of it w/o almost any water running out of it.
  • Maybe add some charcoal?
  • Chop up or blend the mycilium? Would need to sanitize the blender but could get more spread... Blended could loose stuff up the sides of the blender. A few bigger chunks in the bottom would be easier to see grow
  • Add casing layer
  • Top spray for Propper surface conditions

Misc[edit | edit source]

  • Bad mushrooms: stropharia, Hypholoma fasciculare, psathyrella, Galerina, these and more

Gourmet Mushrooms[edit | edit source]

Subaeruginosa Locations[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

  • They're around. Mulched garden beds on the south side of buildings
  • "Look for parks.

after you select a few to search, make sure they have gumtrees after that, check for woodchips If you have those, then you should have a good chance.

I hunt for shrooms looking for the gumtree/woodchip combination, my success rate is 1 every 4 combination finds."

P.S. whoever said that they only find shrooms in thin bits of mulch i agree, i've only seen them out of fairly thick beds a couple of times, most of the time its a light sprinkling of chips.

  • You want the big greyish/brown woodchips.
  • my biggest patches are adjacent to creeks.
  • its dry in near the city mate. wait for more heavy dews.
  • usually facing East where they get morning sun but not afternoon sun.

Melbourne City[edit | edit source]

  • Blackburn station, nature strip adjacent to the tracks.
  • Deakin uni near the pedestrian path
  • Monash University.
  • Rocket Park in Hawthorn used to have them but a lot of people knew about that.
  • Red hill and surrounding areas
  • Mulched garden beds on the south side of buildings (these are protected from extreme drying in warmer months).
  • La Trobe university
  • near the museum
  • a spot a good mate told me about today and low and behold it is near the yarra
  • very time i see a landscaped garden with pine bark i would see them last year - service-stations, railway stations
  • Flagstaff gardens (2004)
  • Carlton Gardens (2008)
  • Just outside the Zoo. Near the tram stop. (6 years ago)
  • Diamond Creek and beyond
  • park near Darling station, east Malvern
  • 6 years ago - https://www.reddit.com/r/melbourne/comments/1ekci8/shrooming_spots_outside_of_the_city/
  • I also hear even just at Deakin Uni, I'm not sure which campus, they grow everywhere near some creek? I've never been there but you know, rumor has it. Burwood student here confirming. It's a long creek and there are loads of places along there where they grow. Remember: it's a uni tho so most of them will go pretty quickly methinks
  • Rowville - schools and parks... so so so much here.
  • Hampton Park - Cairns rd park
  • Dandenong - Kriegal way park just off Outlook Dr, there's a big park there with HEAPS growing near the creek. Follow the path near the toilets about 100m up.
  • The park next to laburnum station
  • Alfred Nichols & George Tinsdale gardens in Sherbrooke are fruitful.
  • Bundoora/Reservoir. Plenty around the uni campuses up there but they get snapped up very very quickly.
  • Wombat State Forest and the small pine forest above Shoreham beach down on the way to Flinders. Sometimes the Dandenongs are fruitful too.
  • 2 spots in the inner east: the tanbark area of the park on Park Grove, Richmond (the tanbark lies between the oval and Yarra Boulevard) - there's also a few good tanbark spots near the skate park at Camberwell junction
  • Mt Macedon GPS
  • Upper furntree gully used to be nice place. Train access, parkland and a lawnmower to spread spores.
  • Mornington Peninsula national park just walk down hill off the walking track right at the start (might have to jump a few fallen trees and whatnot, also can't remember the name of the specific track, sorry) there is hundreds of them, unless someone got there first.
  • Mount Waverley, look for parks, drive to parks, look for mushrooms. (2008)
  • Had a poke around a national park east of Melbourne today. Lots of little guys popping up (2016)
  • Never picked at Hamilton but have heard good things about shrooms down that corner of vic. (2016)
  • Frankston (2016)

Further Out[edit | edit source]

  • Macedon and Mt Macedon, Red hill, Flowerdale, Myrtleford, Cropper Creek, Tawanga, Barwidgee, Running Creek Bright, Porepunka, Bright, Bungamero (huge), Winteriga, Matong North, a few around Toombullup like Fens, Spring Creek, Tromps, Blue Range, Kopps, Archeton
  • Yarrunga Reserve in Croydon hills
  • Mt Macedon pine plantation

Agar[edit | edit source]

  • Agar starts to set at 42°C
  • Solid agar remelts at 85°C.
  • Ideal pour temp is 47°C. Pouring too hot causes condensation.
  • Agar is sterilized at 15 PSI for 20min. If you have sediment then 30-45m time frame.

Consuming[edit | edit source]

Amount[edit | edit source]

Dried Fresh Level Description
0.793g 7.467g Level 1 This level produces a mild "stoning" effect, with some visual enhancement (i.e. brighter colours, etcetera). Some short term memory anomalies. Left/right brain communication changes causing music to sound "wider".
1.349g 12.69g Level 2 Bright colors, and visuals (i.e. things start to move and breathe), some 2 dimensional patterns become apparent upon shutting eyes. Confused or reminiscent thoughts. Change of short term memory leads to continual distractive thought patterns. Vast increase in creativity becomes apparent as the natural brain filter is bypassed.
2.38g 22.4g Level 3 Very obvious visuals, everything looking curved and/or warped patterns and kaleidoscopes seen on walls, faces etc. Some mild hallucinations such as rivers flowing in wood grained or "mother of pearl" surfaces. Closed eye hallucinations become 3 dimensional. There is some confusion of the senses (i.e. seeing sounds as colors, etcetera). Time distortions and "moments of eternity".
3.65g 34.34g Level 4 Strong hallucinations, i.e. objects morphing into other objects. Destruction or multiple splitting of the ego. (Things start talking to you, or you find that you are feeling contradictory things simultaneously). Some loss of reality. Time becomes meaningless. Out of body experiences and e.s.p. type phenomena. Blending of the senses.
4.92g 46.29g Level 5 Total loss of visual connection with reality. The senses cease to function in the normal way. Total loss of ego. Merging with space, other objects, or the universe. The loss of reality becomes so severe that it defies explanation. The earlier levels are relatively easy to explain in terms of measureable changes in perception and thought patterns. This level is different in that the actual universe within which things are normally perceived, ceases to exist! Satori enlightenment (and other such labels).

Storing[edit | edit source]

Dehydration[edit | edit source]

  • Re: Dehydrator potency blackout - Mad Season
  • "had it at the range cited by george, 150-170F, for about 3-4h. But from what I've searched through in this forum since then, if you're drying psilocybin mushrooms, psilocybin doesn't start to melt until it reaches 220°C (420F :rasta:) and potency loss seems to happen more from time until they've dried rather than exposure to high temperatures."
